DC SYSTEMS STEP DC1 – REGULATOR/RECTIFIER: PRE-2005 KTM If the stock regulator looks like below (the stock connector will not plug into the Trail Tech regulator/rectifier) then the provided stub connector must be soldered into the bike’s wire harness. For models without a stock battery, mount the reg/rec and plug the stub connector into it. Run the red and black wires directly to the (aftermarket) battery, and the yellow wires to the stator. SEE DC CIRCUIT DIAGRAM ON REVERSE SIDE OF PAGE. MODELS WITHOUT A STOCK BATTERY Move stock light to the DC circuit: divert lighting wire from AC circuit to DC circuit. In stock form,
applications on motocross and trials engines, etc, this inclination should be 30 degrees or less. fig. 3 2.4 Engine connections The Carburetor is usually connected to the engine with one of the following : Male clamp fixing : the male clamp connection used for the
The main Carburetor functions are: • To form a proper homogeneous inflammable mixture of fuel and air • To supply the engine with varying amounts of this mixture The fuel-air mixture is formed through vapourising and by uniformly spraying fuel into the airstream or at least by atomising it into very small droplets. Atomization takes place in this way: liquid fuel from the atomiser nozzle meets the flow of air which carries it, broken into very fine droplets, to the combustion chamber. We have spoken of a “proper” mixture because the mixture strength, defined as the amount of air in weight mixed with a fuel unit of weight, must have a precise value, ie it must be within the limits of inflammability so that the mixture can be easily ignited by the spark in the combustion chamber.
Get a degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. (Just kidding!) 2. Remove the seat, fuel tank, and side panels. Stock switch Bracket Photo 2 EXC – Unplug and remove the stock headlight. (Photo 2.) Unplug the stock three-pin taillight connector and pull the taillight wires back to the rear of the airbox temporarily. MXC – Remove the stock front number plate. 3. Make sure the stock battery is oriented in its mounting bracket as shown with the positive terminal on the left side of the bike (as viewed if sitting on the bike). If not, remove and spin it 180 degrees. Photo 3 4. MXC ONLY! (EXC skip this step.) Locate the stock lighting wiring harness zip-tied under the frame back-bone (See Photo 4).
Remove the securing zip-ties and route this wiring forward to the area behind the headlight. Route

Remove the stock wheel spacers from both sides of the wheel hub and install both of the Rekluse wheel spacers. After installing the Rekluse wheel spacers, stow the wheel in a suitable place so that the brake rotor cannot be damaged. See following picture. 5 5. Remove the brake pads by removing the clips and sliding out the pin. See following picture. 6. Remove the leaf spring from the caliper. See following picture. 7. Re-install the brake pads with the included coil spring positioned on the pin between the brake pads. Secure the pin by re-installing the 2 clips.
